Automatic sprinkler controllers have been around forever, but the newest crop of digital home irrigation regulators make it possible to control your sprinkler system remotely via your wireless network. Not only can you schedule watering times using a smartphone app or web browser, but it will anticipate your watering needs based on your local weather forecast and lawn conditions as well as being able to be programmed to adhere to local watering restrictions.
Local weather changes can have drastic, daily implications on how much water is needed for any lawn or landscape. Most users do not have time to continually update their existing controller or know how much water their landscape needs during the year. Skydrop's weather monitoring service eliminates the guesswork and adjusts the controller settings automatically.
Our smart irrigation controllers's cloud service constantly monitors the weather and makes adjustments to your watering schedule so you don't have to. While other weather adjusted timers require the purchase and installation of a rooftop weather system, our controller only needs an Internet connection.
Nothing is more wasteful than having your sprinklers on while its raining. Its bad for the environment, and it costs you money. A smart irrigation controller helps you determine how much water your lawn needs. It connects to the internet and constantly monitors the weather and makes adjustments to your watering schedule so you don’t have to. Up to 50% of landscape water usage in the USA is wasted by over-watering. That's more than two and a half billion gallons a year! Imaging using 50% less water on your landscape. That's water you don't have to pay for!
When we program your smart irrigation controller, we will input some information regarding your lawn environment and location. Based on your zip code, it will monitor the weather and based upon the type of soil (sandy, loamy, unsure)since different types of soil will require more water if they do not retain water very well. Depending on what type of vegetation you will be watering (grass, shrubs, trees, ground cover) and your sprinkler types (spray, rotary, drip) shade (none, partial, full) and slope (none, slight, steep.) Using all of this data, coupled with your local hourly weather updates, the smart irrigation controller will create a customized watering schedule designed to keep your lawn looking its best while conserving water. It will even provide you with a daily history of water usage that shows you when the lawn was watered and how much water was supplied by sprinklers compared to how much was supplied by rainfall. You can also create your own watering schedule if you don't want to use its reccomendations.
It actually calculates how much moisture your lawn is losing every day and sets watering times accordingly, making surey our grass always has the optimum amount of water it needs to stay green and healthy.
